The Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) recommends maintaining existing limits on the days when alcohol can be sold to prevent excessive drinking and related harms. Evidence for this recommendation is based on studies assessing the effects of repealing limits on alcohol sales on weekend days. CPSTF notes that these limits can apply to outlets where people buy alcohol to drink either on or off premises.
