This set of guidelines offers recommendations
to help all health care providers prevent infections due to multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs). It categorizes the recommendations by type, including:
- Administrative measures
- Education and training of health care personnel
- Systems for effective treatment of infections and correct use of antibiotics
- Surveillance
- Infection control precautions
- Environmental measures
Prevention and control of MDROs requires both the leadership of administrators and scientific leaders and a commitment of financial and human resources.
