In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative found that multicomponent interventions can prevent alcohol misuse in children and adolescents age 18 years and younger. These interventions include prevention efforts in multiple settings, like in school and family settings, and they typically combine school curricula with a parenting intervention. Researchers found little evidence that interventions with multiple components are more effective than those with single components
