Number of emergency department visits for falls (all-listed ICD9 Clinical Classifications Software (CCS) external cause of injury (falls) diagnosis code of 2603 and all-listed ICD9-CM injury diagnosis codes in the range of 800-909.2, 909.4, 909.9, 910-994.9, 995.5-995.59, and 995.80-995.85 (except 887) among adults aged 65 years and over.
Exclusions from the numerator include transfers from skilled nursing facilities or intermediate care facilities, and from other healthcare facilities; and missing on gender, age, quarter, and year.
