The Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) recommends child safety seat laws to increase the use of child safety seats. These laws require children to use an approved infant or child safety seat when they’re riding in a motor vehicle. CPSTF found that these laws reduce deaths and injuries from motor vehicle crashes.
