A draft of the National Youth Sports Strategy will soon be available to review and provide public comment.
The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health is developing a national strategy to expand children’s participation in sports by focusing on the following priority areas:
- Increasing awareness of the benefits of youth sports participation;
- Promoting private and public strategies or programs to promote youth sports participation;
- Developing metrics; and
- Recruiting volunteers.
Once the draft is made available, public comments will be accepted for approximately 2 weeks.
