Join Us for a Webinar on Increasing Physical Activity Among Older Adults!

Along with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), ODPHP is pleased to invite you to a discussion with state and local health departments about what works to get older adults moving!

On July 19 from 3 to 4 p.m. ET, we’re hosting a webinar titled Increasing Physical Activity Among Older Adults: Practical Strategies from Health Departments. The webinar will share evidence-based strategies from the Physical Activity Guidelines Midcourse Report: Implementation Strategies for Older Adults and highlight successful state and local efforts to promote physical activity among older adults. Register for the webinar now

The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans provides science-based guidance to help Americans maintain or improve their health through physical activity. To build on the second edition of the Guidelines released in 2018, HHS has developed the newly published Midcourse Report.

In this webinar, we’ll introduce the Midcourse Report and summarize key strategies to increase physical activity among older adults. Additionally, the Washington State Department of Health and the Florida Department of Health Hillsborough County will share details on their efforts to promote physical activity and healthy aging.

If you’re committed to helping older adults live healthier lives through physical activity, be sure to join us on July 19! Register for the webinar

You can also check out resources from Move Your Way® — the promotional campaign for the Guidelines. You can share Move Your Way Community Resources with your networks, including Materials for Older Adults and the newly updated Activity Planner that older adults can use to plan and track their activity throughout the week.
