The Journal of Public Health Management and Practice (JPHMP) released a Healthy People 2030 (HP2030) Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and Health Equity (HE) podcast featuring Carter Blakey and Cynthia Gomez. The podcast complements JPHMP’s article entitled "Addressing Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health Through Healthy People 2030". The podcast highlights HP2030 and the roles SDOH and HE play toward achieving our nation’s health goals.

Addressing Healthy People 2030 Diabetes Objectives During the COVID Pandemic Webinar

Healthy People 2030 provides 10-year objectives and targets to improve the health and well-being of the nation. This decade, the Healthy People diabetes topic area includes 9 core and 1 developmental objectives. One objective – Reduce the number of diabetes cases diagnosed yearly – is also a  Leading Health Indicator. On March 23rd the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and the Diabetes Advocacy Alliance hosted a webinar on addressing Healthy People 2030 diabetes objectives during COVID-19.

Newly Released: Healthy People 2020 Final Review Progress Table

Today, the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) released the Healthy People 2020 (HP2020) Final Review Progress Table. The HP2020 Final Review provides a quantitative assessment of the progress made toward the HP2020 goals and objectives by the end of the decade. The HP2020 Final Review will consist of a suite of web-based products that will be released by NCHS on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Wyandotte County Makes Creative Connections in Move Your Way® Community Campaign

In 2020, ODPHP worked with 8 pilot communities to implement the Move Your Way®  campaign on the local level, using the Move Your Way Community Playbook. This installment highlights successful online campaign strategies that BikeWalkKC used to promote physical activity in Kansas City, Kansas, and across all of Wyandotte County.
