On August 18, ODPHP released Healthy People 2030 — the fifth iteration of the Healthy People initiative. Building on knowledge gained over the past 4 decades, Healthy People 2030 sets national objectives to address the nation’s most critical public health priorities.

In 2020, ODPHP is working with 8 pilot communities to implement the Move Your Way campaign on the local level, using the Move Your Way Community Playbook. This installment highlights a successful virtual launch event that took place on April 25, 2020 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina.

Legal and policy approaches can be important tools for achieving healthier communities. Resources from the Healthy People 2020 Law and Health Policy Project provide evidence-based information and identify priority areas that can help communities achieve Healthy People objectives.
