Reduce infections due to human papillomavirus (HPV) types prevented by the 9-valent vaccine in young adults
Summary
Every year in the United States, HPV (human papillomavirus) causes many cases of cancer that could be prevented with vaccination. Routine vaccination is recommended at age 11 to 12 years, but many people who need to get the vaccine don’t. Encouraging health care providers to recommend the vaccine is critical for reducing HPV infections.
