Reduce the proportion of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities enrolled in publicly funded, long-term services and supports (LTSS) who live in congregate care residences with 7 or more people
Summary
People with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live large institutional settings may have poorer quality of life. They’re often isolated from their families, and they may not be able to make important decisions about their lives. Laws and programs that increase the number of smaller, family-sized residential settings for people with disabilities can provide more opportunities for educational, physical, and social activities.
